Review: Hotel Galleria Davao

And now, we reach to the last post of my Davao experience or not? lols! Here’s the review of where we stayed in Davao.

I, again, want to thank my mother for never ending love and support for us! You may think we are responsible for the hotel and other activities in Davao but actually, It’s my mother’s.  She’s the one who arranged everything. From the airport shuttle to hotel reservation. The only thing I did here is to wait for piso fare and booked us.  Thanks mama!

As I said before, she’s the one responsible for the hotel reservation because if it’s me, we should be in Marco Polo but I know it’s too expensive for us since we’re 17 people. Good thing my mom found this hotel.

I don’t know how my mom did it but she got the penthouse for  3500 php per night. The penthouse can only accommodate for 4 pax I think, but because my mother wave her magic wand. They let us stayed there without extra charged, they even lend us extra beds for free. My mommy Linda booked a different room because we, children (lols!) were too loud.

What can I say about Hotel Galleria aside from they are not really expensive? The staffs are really nice. They remember what you ordered. I ordered hot chocolate once and they remember it the next day. They are accommodating and hospitable.

The place is nice and clean. They have swimming pool! oh yes! hahaha! The only thing I wished they have is an elevator. But it was okay actually. It’s a good exercise. the only time you will wished they have it is when you are tired from whole day touring the city.

I liked their bathroom since it’s too spacious and it has bathtub in it. though I didn’t try to stay long. The penthouse’s too spacious and really nice. and oh! I like their stairway because it’s really dramatic.

This hotel may not have an elevator but that’s just an elevator. It may be old but our experience here was nevertheless great, I wouldn’t ask for other hotel and will definitely book again here for sure.

I rate this hotel…

Bold and Pink

You may now realized why I don’t have pictures on my Davao day 4. I want my solo shots to be included in my davao OOTD post since I don’t have any blogger pose with this outfit.

Looking back, I really don’t like to wear any pink, my defense mechanism was “I’m a girl, why should I wear pink? It will be redundant” But as we grow old, our taste will change. Before I really love to eat chocolate but nowadays, I just love the idea of eating it. Yes, I eat some but not a lot like before. It goes with my fashion sense, before I don’t like pink, today, let’s just say, it is tolerable to wear especially when it is in neon pink.

Why would stick with a baby pink when you want to make a statement?

The neon pink shorts I’m wearing here is complimented my top since the prints have pink on it.

I completed my look with a blue shoes.

I want Fabulous

I’m a fan of High School Musical series and Ashley Tisdale is my forever fashion inspiration. Others were crushing Troy. Likes Gabriella and Troy’s love story. I, on the other hand were crushing Sharpay Evans or Ashley Tisdale in real life.

I watched Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure for hundred times already and I didn’t get bored or anything.

And Fabulous is one of my favorite song 🙂 That explain the title of my blog today 🙂

I found this dress in 168. It’s a love at first sight kind of thing. I didn’t know that time if it will work but the thing about being in love with something (or someone) is you have to work it out even if it will not fit. (Lols! Hugot!)

I hope you fell in love with the dress too 🙂

Patterns and Design

Aside from the attractions and experiences, adventures and happenings, we shouldn’t forget about #OOTDs and stuffs! Afterall, what you’re wearing is part of who you are.

As soon as I put this outfit, I wanted to take it off since I forgot that it was scheduled for the tribe parade since it will fit perfectly ( because of the colors and patterns!) But of course, since I’m wearing it and we’re a little bit late for our itinerary for that day. I let it on. Good thing that I had a back up plan with me.

I really love this outfit because it’s really me! Loud and bold. Plus it is cheap than any other jumpshorts. The only problem of this jumpshort is the problem of peeing. It is really nice that I could reach the zipper at the back. Lols!

Davao Day 4

Day 4 marks our last day in Davao. It was also the tribes parade. It will be a lengthy one because I would like to share to you all the pictures though I know that it will be impossible because of the memory alotted in this blog. But I picked the beautiful ones. Enjoy!

We woke up early just to see the pride of Davao and we’re not disappointed by the presentation.

The costumes, dance routines and even the discipline of the participants and the tourists are well-organized. Watching it on TV and watching it in person is really different, from the excitement to the adrenaline. You will feel the contestants’ hard work. They might be tired because of endless practice and due to the temperature (since it was really hot that day) but you won’t see it on their eyes. It’s like they’re enjoying what they’re doing. (Which I’ve been missing these past few months, I might add.)

We asked some of them if we could take pictures with them and they shyly agreed. It was amazing how they smile in these pictures even though some of the tourists asked them the same favor.

I once participated in the Lakbayaw festival and it was not easy. From the distance to the costume. I remember that we wore a skirt and a crop top that looks like a chicken feathers. It was hard for me, imagine how it was hard for them.

I just wished we could stay longer so we could see the float parade but we will be back for sure. This visit ain’t going to be my last.

You might notice that I don’t have pictures with them. I guess that’s the prize of being their photographer ( which is a little bit harsh don’t you think?). I have pictures though but I saved it for later. Hehe.

Davao Day 3 Part 2

The crocodile farm show ended at 5 pm, I think. After that, we went to see the Tribu K’ Mindanawan, it is inside the Crocodile farm compound. A 1-2 minute walk from the crocodile farm.

We waited for less than an hour before the show started. We weren’t bored though for the reason that they had icebreaker, it was really funny that my cousin, kuya Bong, won their game. Their prize was a free ticket in Eden park for 2 or more guests I think. Yey! Though we can’t use it because we don’t have enough time, we need to go back to Manila the next day.

The show started when it was dark, for obvious reason. I’m excited with this one because I love fire dancing.

They exceeded my expectations! It was really entertaining and amazing! You should watch it. The show lasted for more or less an hour.

They had mistakes-the fire dancers- but it were bearable. Nevertheless, the show’s really entertaining. We left with a smile on our face.

You don’t need to pay anything because it’s included on the ticket you paid on the Crocodile park. But a box was placed in the middle for you guys to put your donations because let’s face it. The tickets were not enough for them.

They let us take pictures with them after the show.

We ended our day with a good food and a good place. We went to Jack’s Ridge for our dinner and dude, let me tell you it’s not easy. Traveling from crocodile farm to Jack’s Ridge was really something. Since we were so engrossed with the show in Crocodile farm, we didn’t get any food! the last time I have eaten was during lunch and doing a lot like; running, taking pictures, exploring is really exhausting.

When we arrived in Jack’s Ridge, we waited for almost 30 minutes for the table to be ready. Thank goodness that I have a mother like mama, you see, we should waited for more than an hour if she didn’t do her thing.

The wait were worth it actually! The food were great and the scenery, goodness! I died! lols.

I would like to thank jonaxx (my favorite writer from wattpad) if it wasn’t because of you, I wouldn’t visit this place. And let me tell you this! I missed 6 months of my life! lols. Thank you for doing the Until Trilogy!!!!!

Now you actually witness me being a fantard! I googled the meaning of fantard just to be sure and dude! it was harsh. hahahha! I agree on one thing, I’m an obsessive fan. I don’t believe in this statement though. I know I have talents. I’m just obsess!

they have no talent, or lives of their own

Note: Tribu K’ Mindanawan show was only during Fridays so keep it in mind if you are planning to go.

Keep posted for our last day in Davao.

See you!

Davao Day 3 Part 1

Since our day 3 in Davao’s a little bit long so I decided to divided it into 2 post.

So here we go! Lols 🙂

Our day 3 in Davao was the longest day of my life so far. Have you ever experience something like this? Like you’ve been doing a lot for just one day that you think you’ve been working for a week or a month already? I’d experience this before and yes I’m experiencing this up to this day. This is just the same as our day 3 in Davao though different feelings. The latter part, it was tiring of course but I’m happy. On the first part, it was tiring and I’m not happy! Lols ( you may now have a clue on what am I feeling about my work! Shhhhh guys! Some of my colleagues are reading this 😛 hi Jo!)

As I was saying, our day 3 in Davao’s a little bit exhausting than the first two. We left the hotel after we ate our lunch. We rented a jeepney because crocodile park is far from the city. It took us more than an hour I think.

The first thing we did is purchased entrance tickets. Here’s a tip guys. If you want to visit the butterfly farm just like what we did. I think you should ask your driver (if the vehicle’s rented) to wait for you since the butterfly farm from the crocodile farm is a little bit far. But if you want to walk it is just fine. If you forgot to tell the driver. There are tricycles waiting for you just outside the crocodile farm.

The butterfly farm is just an ordinary farm. The butterfly farm in Bohol is larger than this one. Snce there’s no tour guide here or personnel that will teach you about the butterfly life cycle or such, you will be on your own.

Since my son’s a little bit pabibo like me, he became our tour guide. He explained to us the life cycle of a butterfly. Cool right?

We left after a few minutes.

20150821_144337

The next thing we did was to go back to the crocodile park since it was the main reason why we went there.

The first tip that I will give to you all is to bring a lot of energy. As in a lot. you’ll know why 🙂

We waited for one to two hours for the show to start so we just roamed around. They have lots of animals, they have deer, snake turtle, tiger, birds and so on. My Keyn enjoyed the tour. And of course lots of photo op for me 🙂

Why did I told you to bring a lot of energy? You will need it as the show started. At first they asked you to take a seat. They will showcase the animals talent. Monkeys that can do different tricks, birds that can shoot balls. It was okay at first. Who will complain if all you need to do is to sit and watch unfortunately we were asked to follow the emcee for the next show.

At first, I really wanted to watch the show. Who wouldn’t right? But after a couple of location transfer, we (my cousins and siblings) decided to get ahead of the game! (lols we were like playing amazing race here. literally). Some of us were responsible with the kids. Since they can’t watch the show alone, they need someone to look over them. The others (including me) go with the next destination to save spot for the kids.

It really helped us. Splitting up. since the kids had the better view of what’s happening. It’s a little bit tiring for us but it was worth it.

Bellow are some of the pictures from our little adventure.

The crocodile park experience was a little bit tiring, it drained our energy. But it was really great!

How our tiring third day in Davao ended? Read my next post. 🙂

Davao Day 2

Our day 2 of Davao adventure was quite different from the first day. Of course we visited tourist spots though we didn’t hire any van or didn’t go nature tripping. Our day 2 Davao experience is on the city itself.

We visited the Museo Dabawenyo first then the Bone Museum. We enjoyed our visits in Museo Dabawenyo because we learned something about Davao. It is also free for everyone which is I really adore, why? because it’s free. The only thing I don’t like about it is the fact that we can’t take pictures inside but I understand the reason of course.

On the entrance of the museum, you can feel the presence of Davao not just because you’re in Davao but because they’re playing a native sound that’s relaxing, my father and my cousins can’t help but to dance with the rhythm of the sound. People were looking at us but we didn’t mind at all.

Then after we went to the museum we visited the San Pedro Cathedral to thank God for all the blessings and make a wish since it was the first time we visited the place. After that we took a jeepney ride to go to bone museum. It was hard for us to find an empty jeep. It took us a while to arrived in the Bone Museum.

Keyn was sooo thrilled in the museum. The kids are the main reason why we wanted to go to the Bone Museum. Since we know that they will enjoy the experience.

And we’re right! The kids really enjoyed it and so were we! We learned a lot too. and we saw real life bones from different animals. My Keyn was so stoked about the bones of dolphins, whales, dogs and many more. I could saw the happiness and amazement in his eyes. He couldn’t stay quiet. He always says, “Mama look oh!” “Mama a bone!”. I’ll give everything just to see him that happy everyday 🙂

We ate at Abreeza Mall right after, even though it was really far from where we were. I made it possible. Why? Because one of my favorite online stories in wattpad happened to have a scene there. *ehem* Elijah Montefalco *ehem* Klare Montefalco *ehem* I liked to go to CDO just to see the famous Xavier University but it was not possible that time. Will surely go there for sure!

Davao Day 1

Last August, we went to Davao to see the Kadayawan festival. Last year, my sister went to Davao for the same reason though she’s with her friends. Since I’m so inggitera, I asked my mom if we could go to Davao, she said yes though we need to wait for seat sale. And yes we waited for piso fare that cebu pac offered.

There were two places that I wanted to go this year. The first one is Bacolod since I wanna see the Masskara festival. Though dates are fully booked so we settled to my second one; Davao! Don’t think that I just picked Davao because I had no choice. It’s such that, I really wanted to go to Bacolod since one of my friends (who’s from Bacolod) says pretty things about the place. So please don’t get any ideas eh?

Moving on. We arrived at Davao at 7 PM I think. We don’t have time to take pictures for the reason that it’s night already and we’re a little bit tired. We searched for night life, convenience store that night tho.

The next day came and since we have itinerary that day, we need to be on the road as early as possible since we will be going the Samal Island and Eden park.

My sister rented a van for the whole day for 3500 php. As we riding the van we’re too shocked that the speed limit in Davao is 30 kph. Seriously? You know I’m from Manila wherein the there’s no speed limit and the jeepney drivers drive as if there’s no tomorrow. I mean, of course there’s a speed limit but it is not strictly implemented. In Manila, riding on a jeepney is like riding on a roller coaster though NOT ALL the time! Some jeepney drivers still want their passenger to be safe. They follow the traffic rules and regulations. I think if the rules of Davao were implemented here in Manila ay hayahay ang buhay.

The ride were lasted for I-don’t-know-how-long since I was sleeping. My family and friends can testify that I’m a good sleeper because, I could sleep instantly regardless of the position or how long the drive is. I trained myself to sleep actually because when I was young, I’m the kind of kid who can easily puke. I hated the smell of air-condition, car freshener and zigzag roads. But I overcome it. Though I really sleep a lot during rides or at home 😛

We ride a ferryboat and the ride lasted for I think 30 minutes? I’m not sure but the ride was not more than an hour. As we arrived in Samal, Davao, our driver became excited and passed the 30 kph limit. lols! We arrived in Hagimit falls in no time.

20150819_073638

20150819_073621

I really am a nature lover. I also love adventure and travel. I love to swim. I learned to swim when I was 4 years old I think. My uncles and aunties on my mother side were really patient in teaching us all. My Papa ul taught us everything we needed to learn. Diving, freestyle, floating, backstroke, sisid. I miss him. I really do.

Imagine my face when we arrived in Hagimit falls. It’s beautiful that I forgot to take pictures. they have lots of small falls. I fell in love instantly. The entrance fee cost 40 php for adults and 20 php for kids. 150 plus php for the tent or tables.

The water is cold and refreshing. We immediately swim after we settled. You can see below that it was difficult to step into the rocks because it was so slippery but thanks to my cousin and the staffs, it was not as hard as it should be.

My son’s a little bit afraid so my mom decided to let him swim near her instead. Soon after my son left, my aunties, nieces and cousins followed. We had a photo op!

The staffs allowed us to dive in the 13-14 ft deep water. And being me, I’m game! my twin cousins were the first one to dive. I’m the last one to dive. it was really something. I will do it again for sure 🙂

Before 12 noon. We decided to leave the place even if we didn’t want to. We needed to go to the beach so we could eat. Unfortunately, I didn’t swim there for the reason that it was high tide and the sun is too hot. Though I really wish I did.

We didn’t got to explore the Eden park for the reason that it was raining when we arrived there and the staffs told us that the activities were not allowed because of the weather. It was sad but I’m a little bit relieved. I just woke up that time and I am fully convinced that if they allowed us, I will be staying on the van to get some sleep. I don’t know but we’re really tired that day. We decided to return to the hotel to rest.

Traveling with family is an experience I would like to recommend. It’s something to treasure. Yes, it was great traveling with friends but family is really different.
